Message from our Minister

Good, grand, glorious morning;

January/ February 2008

It is a fresh new year. What will it bring to each of us? What will it bring to our church? What lessons have we learned from last year that we can apply with a deeper understanding of Truth to this year? What gifts did we receive that we can honor and expand upon?

The first of the year seems to be the perfect time for reflection and resolution. It is all "thought" work. In our thoughts we make commitments and recommitments to those things that hold value to us. In our thoughts we hold intention to bring forth manifestation of what God wills for us.

Does your faith, your belief system hold value for you? Do you hold value for yourself? Then put God first. Bring yourself to prayer and meditation daily, hourly, momently, without ceasing. Then walk your faith. Be alive in your faith. Radiate your faith. Be committed to be the divine essence you are created to be. Be fully present in the Presence. Open yourself fully to Spirit and let yourself be transformed. Then you will act the newness that you are at each moment. You will attract all your good to you. You will naturally bless all those around you with your love, your service, and your abundant supply. And health and wholeness will be your reward.

As I prepare with our board members for the Annual Meeting in February, I find I am afire with the desire to serve Unity of Blue Water through a new blossoming of spiritual energy and upliftment. Will you catch that fire with me? Will you open yourself up to God's creative flow through you? Will you hold the vision that allows all to experience and share God's love? Will you help us birth our perfect mission and put it to work? Let's make this the best year this church has ever experienced.

Love and God Bless,

Rev. Peggy

Blink, blink, blink goes my cursor as I stare at the white space on my screen.  White space—pure, uncluttered, invites us into the opportunity for all possibilities, God.

It is amazing how simple it is to get metaphysical messages when we allow ourselves to be open to the white spaces of our life.  The blinking is like our Christ self sending signals to focus.  Focusing brings us into the now which allows us to shift our attention toward God where we are divinely guided to open up to the possibilities.

We have entered that very special time of year where we are blessed and grateful for harvest.  We are open and receptive for a deeper understanding of the meaning of our Christ selves heralded by the celebration of Jesus’ birth.  It is truly divine order that gratitude is the key to becoming open and receptive to a deeper understanding and knowing of our relationship with God.  For gratitude is the energy that reflects humility; it is the ability to surrender to our higher consciousness.  It is no mistake that our outward calendar reflects this inner time of transformation that is not just happening on an individual level but in a collective form as well.

As we embrace this season of heightened activity in celebration of harvest and awakening to the birth of the Christ within, let us be looking for the blinkers in our life to keep us centered on the opportunities in the white spaces of our day.  May we see the white spaces as an opportunity that draws us forward as global participants in creating a grander life.

Love & God Bless,

Rev. Peggy

July/August 2007

It is summertime and everyone is adding an abundance of outdoor activities to their already busy schedules.  We’re gardening, mowing, boating, biking, camping, and vacationing, to name a few.  What a glorious time of year, a time when we can get out and enjoy sunshine, fresh air, birds, flowers, beaches, and all God’s beautiful earth and creatures.  It can also be a time of bee stings, sunburns, heat prostration and other not so pleasant effects that show up in life.

It is easy when life feels good for us to forget who we are at the very center of our being.  It is easy to forget to be grateful to God and to recognize God’s gifts, the bounty we enjoy.  It is easy to forget to even spend time with God and to seek to do God’s will.  When the not so pleasant effects of our forgetfulness show up, we may begin to play the blame game.  Then we realize it is time to put God first, once again!  With God in the driver’s seat the boat skips over the waves and the tires on the bike remain inflated.

Living in our humanity is certainly a challenge.  And challenge is what makes life worth living.  The next time you feel challenged in a way that feels negative, remember that it is all God and God is good all the time.  Returning to God in your thoughts will help you to see your experiences in a different light, an illumined light.  Then with gratitude, you will be able to follow divine guidance to be a blessing and to be blessed, as well.

As you take the time to be in the summer experience, remember to enjoy relaxing with God in God’s world.

Love & God Bless,

Rev. Peggy

November/December 2006

A very special time of the year is upon us.  It is the season of giving thanks for what is out there — our physical harvest — and for what is in here — our internal growth. It is a rebirthing in Spirit.

It is like being in the third trimester of a pregnancy.  We are coming to that stage of maturity where we can be considered ready for birth, a period when some babies are even brought into the world prematurely and supported by mechanical means.  At least we think it is by mechanical means. The truth is that the spiritual is always behind the outward appearances.  For those babies who make it full term, this is a time when the lungs become able to function in the outer world.  They accept the breath of Spirit, the breath of life, as do we during this time of gratitude.

This is the season when we anticipate and celebrate the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, whom we call our way-shower. The Christian world recognizes Jesus as the Christ, the one individual who fully realized, lived and continues to live fully in his divinity.

Spiritually, as we prepare for the feasts of Thanksgiving and Christmas, we become open and receptive to the spiritual essence that illumines both of these outer activities. This is a high season with high energy.  It is also a season when many will become caught up in the outer pressures of life, and some will even experience mourning.

This makes it a perfect time to take a fresh look at what Jesus taught.  He taught us to treat our brothers and sisters with compassion.  He taught us to go apart for awhile, become rested and renewed in Spirit.  He taught us to be in the world and not of it.  He taught us that the kingdom of God is within.  He taught us to trust fully in God, our Creator.  And he taught us most of all to love – love God, love ourselves and love each other.

As you go through this season of gratitude for life and rebirthing in Spirit, step back and practice what Jesus taught and become more aware of the child of God that you are!

Love & God Bless,

Rev. Peggy

September 2006

Summer is winding down and the activity of autumn is ensuing.

In the Bible book of Ecclesiastes, we read that there is a time and a purpose for everything under the sun. As summer is a time of allowing God to add the growth to the seed that has been planted and tended to, autumn becomes the time to reap the fruit of the harvest.

September is a month of transition from the nurturing to the reaping. Each step in a  process takes commitment. Sometimes, the period of transition-  the period between the sowing and the reaping -feels disorienting, dislodging and disconnected. This is a time that calls us to hold to an even deeper commitment to the Truth that we know.

As we come back together from summer vacations and re-orient ourselves to the schedules of Sunday school, classes and new projects, let us do so with renewed commitment to our spiritual growth.

May we continue to harvest the visions of the good of our church community and the love that we express as God blesses our work and our lives.

Love & God Bless,

Rev. Peggy
